Chances are, after today, you’ve heard of Watertown. It’s currently the center of a media frenzy because the Marathon bombing suspect is on the run and most likely hiding out in Watertown. Well, guess what? I live in Watertown. About one mile down the road, at my local Target and mall, there is a manhunt for a terrorist.
I woke up before my alarm this morning to texts messages asking me “Are you ok?” and “Where are you?” I had no idea what they were talking about. When I fell asleep around midnight, I had just heard reports that there was a shooting at MIT in Cambridge. Apparently, the terrorists made their way to Watertown and had a terrible shooting exchange with the police, who must have been chasing them. One terrorist down; one on the loose.
Listen, it’s scary. We’re trapped in our homes with our doors and windows locked. And I just keep waiting for the police to show up and search my home.
Please, please keep Boston in your prayers and if you’re non-religious, then just think of us fondly!
